Bring-A-Box, Saturday 8th December 2018, Star, Godalming

Our new venue at The Star Inn, Godalming was deemed a great success. It attracted about 15 SLUGers, including the brand new ones and those who came out of the woodwork.

It was a rainy day, ideal for a cosy pub session. Everyone was granted a chance of enjoying their 5 minutes of fame by taking to the floor and sharing with the group how they came into Linux.

The venue had a lot going for it: privacy, an overhead projector with a screen (though no use was made of it on this occasion), proximity to the train station, friendly service, good food and a huge range of award winning real beers.

We have regular sessions on the second Saturday of each month. Bring a 'box', bring a notebook, bring anything that might run Linux, or just bring yourself and enjoy socialising/learning/teaching or simply chilling out!

This month's meeting is at the Star Inn in Godalming, Surrey.

New members are very welcome. We're not a cliquey bunch, so you won't feel out of place! Usually between 15 and 30 people come along.

• Time: noon - 5pm
• Location: Star Inn, Godalming, Surrey GU7 1EL
• Travel info and directions: Short distance from Godalming railway station. No car park at the pub, car parking in Godalming is left as an exercise for the reader!

The meeting is in a function room and we're told there's a projector available for presentations
