Welcome to Surrey Linux Users Group

Stained glass Tux by Jim K

Linux is very resistant to viruses. Surrey LUG has been meeting monthly for more than 20 years and during the pandemic we switched to virtual meetings. Now we're back to meeting in pubs, but we're continuing our remote ones as well. Join the mailing list for discussion of virtual meetings. Normal service has been resumed! Now wash your hands!

Surrey LUG is a friendly Linux user group. If you have any interest in Linux, GNU (or related systems such as *BSD, Solaris, OpenSolaris, etc) and are based in Surrey, then come along to one of our meetings! New members are always very welcome, no matter what your skill level, even if you're just looking for a different system from the one that came installed on your computer.

For further information, please follow any of the links on the left or the menu items above.

The mailing list is really the "core" of this group - it's where most of the discussion goes on, and many of the meetings are arranged here. Most of us started in Surrey LUG simply by subscribing to the mailing list and sending an introductory post. For the more adventurous types, why not attend one of our monthly Bring a Box sessions, held in and around Surrey/Hampshire, where you can bring your laptop, etc. and attend talks, ask for help or just chat about the latest technology news.
