- A Sample of OpenOffice V2.0 video from NewsForge
See Beginners Links, and look at the "Software Guides and Information" section for more information, and the videos in question via the NewsForge site
- Partimage - a partition imaging program similar to ghost - IanGibbs
This talk gave a real life usage of how to use partimage to backup your partitions over a network, by use of a live CD and an NFS server - this can be customized. Scripts to follow!
- Recovering disks with "Tom's Root Boot" diskette - JohnW
John gave a short talk on how he was able to use a Tom's Root Boot disk to log into a box where he could not use a live CD.
Ideas were raised about how to go about getting access to facilities at a university. Dominic is a member of a society at university which is possibly able to host events in rooms or labs. This subject needs further discussion.
- VMWare Server Demo with CentOS - Clive osde.info
Clive gave a demo on the new (free) VMWare Server, and player, explaining how it is now possible to remove the requirement for VMWare Workstation for most uses.
- Network booting - Juergen cancelled
Juergen had to cancel this talk due to other commitments
